AB 1458 (Quirk D) Cannabis testing laboratories.
The existing Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA), among other things, prohibits cannabis and cannabis products from being sold unless a representative sample has been tested by a licensed testing laboratory. MAUCRSA requires a testing laboratory to follow a standard operating procedure to confirm or refute the original result that falls outside the specifications authorized by law or regulation.
This bill would authorize a manufacturer to contest the testing results or to request and pay for a retest of the batch and would authorize a testing laboratory to amend a certificate of analysis to correct minor errors. The bill would require the bureau to adopt regulations implementing those processes.
